Temporary Phone Number for Binance Verification
Receive the Binance SMS code on a real mobile-carrier number that passes Binance's VoIP check — private numbers with rental periods long enough to move 2FA to an authenticator app before the number goes away.
What This Page Is For
This page covers one use case: receiving the 6-digit SMS code Binance sends when it asks you to confirm a mobile number. That prompt appears at sign-up, at login from a new device once SMS 2FA is on, and before every withdrawal while SMS remains a security factor. A temporary number from TempNumber.me receives that code so you do not have to attach your personal number to an exchange account.
It is not about opening Binance accounts from countries Binance does not serve, running multiple accounts, or replacing identity verification. Binance decides eligibility at KYC from your passport or ID card and a face check, not from the phone number. A number clears the SMS layer and nothing else. The sections on 2FA and lockout below matter more on an exchange than on any social platform, so read them before you pick a number.
Binance Uses SMS at Three Points, Not One
On Telegram or Discord, the phone number is a one-time gate. On Binance it becomes a security factor the moment you confirm it, and Binance sends codes to it again in these situations:
- Sign-up— Binance accepts registration by email or phone. If you register by email and later add a phone under Profile, Security, the same SMS confirmation runs.
- Login 2FA— With SMS authentication enabled, Binance prompts for a code at login from a new device, browser, or IP. Clearing cookies counts as a new device.
- Withdrawal confirmation— Every crypto withdrawal and every P2P release requires a 2FA code. If SMS is one of your active factors, Binance sends the code to the number on file.
- Security changes— Adding or removing a 2FA method, changing the email, or resetting a password prompts a code to the existing factors, and Binance suspends withdrawals for 24 hours after the change goes through.
This is why the shared-versus-private decision below is not a cost question on Binance. If the number is a withdrawal factor and it expires, funds on the account are locked until Binance support completes a 2FA reset. Binance runs that reset as a full identity re-check with document upload and a face video, and it can take days. The fix is not a longer rental. It is moving 2FA off SMS while the number is still live.
Why Binance Rejects Most Virtual Numbers
Binance runs a number-type check before sending any code. Numbers in ranges assigned to VoIP operators such as Google Voice, TextNow, Skype, Hushed, and Burner are refused outright, either with an unsupported-number error or with the code never arriving. Retrying does not help because the refusal happens before any SMS is sent. Exchanges enforce this harder than social platforms do, because a VoIP number that can be re-provisioned by anyone with an email address is a SIM-swap vector for an account that holds money.
Binance also refuses a number that is already registered to another Binance account. On a shared number that has been cycled through several sign-ups, the code either does not come or the form reports the number as already in use. There is no way past this other than a different number.
TempNumber.me numbers come from real mobile-operator ranges in 198 countries. The check sees the same carrier it would see on a physical SIM, and the code arrives by SMS, usually within 15-45 seconds. The non-VoIP phone number page explains what the lookup sees and why the range matters more than the number itself.
Which Countries Binance Sends SMS To Reliably
Numbers from 198 countries are available. For Binance specifically, these have consistent delivery and unambiguous carrier lookups. Each is also a high-volume Binance market, so the SMS route has been exercised heavily:
- UK (+44)— EE, O2, Vodafone UK, and Three mobile ranges starting +44 7. Delivery is fast and the carrier lookup is precise. Binance's UK offering has been shaped by FCA financial-promotion rules since 2023; eligibility is decided at KYC, not by the number.
- Germany (+49)— Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone DE, and O2 Germany ranges starting +49 15, 16, or 17. One of Binance's largest European markets and the most predictable European route in our delivery data.
- Netherlands (+31)— KPN, Odido, and Vodafone NL ranges starting +31 6. Carrier delivery is reliable. Binance withdrew from onboarding Dutch residents in 2023 after failing to obtain a DNB registration, so a +31 number is a delivery choice, not an eligibility one.
- Philippines (+63)— Globe, Smart, and DITO ranges starting +63 9. Very high Binance usage and fast delivery. The Philippine SEC ordered Binance blocked for local residents in 2024; the number does not change that, the KYC documents do.
- Indonesia (+62)— Telkomsel, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, and XL Axiata ranges starting +62 8. Binance serves the Indonesian market mainly through Tokocrypto, which it backs, and both send SMS to these ranges without issue.
- Brazil (+55)— Vivo, Claro, and TIM ranges, 9-digit mobile numbers beginning with 9 after the area code. Brazil is Binance's largest Latin American market and the carrier routes are well tested.
The country of the number does not decide where you can use Binance. Binance reads your country from the identity document you upload at KYC and from your IP. Pick the number for delivery reliability and, where possible, to match the country you actually live in, because Binance flags a mismatch between phone country and ID country as a risk signal on some accounts.
Shared vs Private Numbers for Binance
TempNumber.me offers two tiers. On most services the choice comes down to price. On Binance it comes down to whether you keep access to your funds:
- Shared numbers— Publicly listed. Any TempNumber.me user can see incoming SMS on these numbers while they are active, so the code is visible to anyone watching at that moment, and the number returns to the pool shortly after. Other users have likely already registered Binance accounts on it, and Binance refuses a number that is already attached to an account. Acceptable only for an account you will never fund.
- Premium private numbers— Exclusively yours for the rental period. No other user sees the code, the number has not been cycled through repeated Binance sign-ups, and the longer rental gives you time to set up Binance Authenticator or Google Authenticator, remove SMS as a factor, and sit out the 24-hour withdrawal suspension that follows, all while Binance can still reach the number. This is the tier to use for any account you intend to deposit into. The trade-offs are covered in shared vs private numbers.
How to Verify Binance with a Temporary Number
- Pick a country and a private number. On TempNumber.me, choose one of the countries above, preferably the one you live in, and pick a premium private number with the longest rental you can. Copy the number.
- Enter it in Binance. In the sign-up form or under Profile, Security, Phone Number Verification, select the matching country code and type the number. Request the code once and wait; resending three or four times in a minute trips Binance's rate limit.
- Receive the code live.Return to TempNumber.me. The 6-digit code appears on the number's page. Enter it in Binance before it expires.
- Switch primary 2FA to an authenticator app the same session.Under Profile, Security, Two-Factor Authentication, enable Binance Authenticator or Google Authenticator. Store the setup key or backup codes somewhere offline. This is the step that removes the account's dependence on the number.
- Remove SMS as a factor. Once the authenticator is confirmed, disable SMS authentication in the same menu. Binance will send a final code to the number to approve the change, so the number must still be live. Withdrawals are suspended for 24 hours after this.
- Complete KYC and wait out the suspension before depositing. Upload your identity document and pass the face check. Do not deposit until the 24-hour window has passed and you have confirmed that a withdrawal prompt asks for the authenticator code, not an SMS.
Limits You Should Know Before Verifying
A phone number clears the SMS step only. Depositing fiat, withdrawing crypto above the unverified limit, and using P2P all require identity verification with a government ID and a face check. Binance enforces this under the anti-money-laundering rules of each jurisdiction it is licensed in. A temporary number does not replace any of it, does not change the residency Binance records from your documents, and does not get around regional restrictions.
Lockout is the other limit, and on Binance it means locked funds. If SMS is still a withdrawal factor and the number has expired, the withdrawal cannot be confirmed and the account stays locked until Binance's 2FA reset completes. Switch to an authenticator app on the day you verify. The general method for moving any account off SMS is covered in 2FA without a phone, and SIM-swap protection explains why exchange accounts are the ones attackers target through the number.
If a code does not arrive, credit review is case-by-case. Contact support@tempnumber.me with the number and the time of the attempt. TempNumber.me is not for opening Binance accounts from countries Binance does not serve, for getting around a restriction, or for running multiple accounts. Binance links accounts by device, identity documents, and deposit sources, and numbers used that way are refused quickly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a virtual number for Binance verification?
Yes, if the number sits in a real mobile-carrier range. Binance checks the number type before sending the 6-digit SMS code and refuses VoIP ranges such as Google Voice, TextNow, and Skype. TempNumber.me numbers come from mobile-operator ranges, so the check sees a carrier like EE, Deutsche Telekom, Globe, Telkomsel, or Vivo and the code arrives by SMS. Binance also refuses a number already attached to another account, which is one reason to avoid shared numbers.
Why is Binance SMS verification not working?
In order of frequency: the number is in a VoIP range and Binance refused it before sending; the number is already registered to another Binance account; the country code in the form does not match the number; or the code was sent after a shared number had returned to the pool. Use a private number from a country with reliable delivery, select the matching country code, and request the code once. Repeated resends trip Binance's rate limit and delay the next code.
Which countries does Binance send SMS to most reliably?
UK (+44), Germany (+49), Netherlands (+31), Philippines (+63), Indonesia (+62), and Brazil (+55) mobile ranges from the major carriers in each country. These are high-volume Binance markets with well-tested SMS routes. Delivery is a carrier matter and is separate from whether Binance serves residents of that country, which Binance decides at KYC from your identity documents, not from the number.
What happens to my Binance account when the temporary number expires?
If SMS is still a 2FA factor, Binance asks for a code on that number at withdrawal, at new-device login, and on security changes. With the number gone, withdrawals fail and funds are locked until Binance support completes a document-based 2FA reset. Switch primary 2FA to Binance Authenticator or Google Authenticator immediately after signup, remove SMS as a factor while the number is still live, and expect a 24-hour withdrawal suspension after the change.
