SMS Messages– Messages received on our temporary phone numbers are displayed on the website temporarily so users can retrieve verification codes. These messages are visible to all users of the shared number and are automatically deleted according to our retention schedule described below.
IP Addresses– We may collect IP addresses for security purposes, including rate limiting, abuse prevention, and protection against automated attacks. IP addresses are not linked to any personal profile or account.

Data Retention

SMS Messages– Messages received on temporary numbers are stored for a maximum of 24 to 48 hours from the time of receipt, after which they are permanently and automatically deleted from our systems. Once deleted, messages cannot be recovered.
Usage Analytics– Aggregated, anonymized usage data is retained for up to 26 months in accordance with Google Analytics default retention settings.
IP Address Logs– IP addresses collected for security and abuse prevention purposes are retained for a maximum of 30 days before being permanently deleted.
Cookie Data– Cookie data expires according to the lifespans described in the Cookie Policy section below.

GDPR Compliance

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you are protected by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent local laws. TempNumber.me processes data under the following legal bases:

TempNumber.me does not store, process, or have access to your full credit card numbers, bank account details, or other sensitive financial information. Our payment processors are PCI DSS compliant and handle all payment data securely. We may retain a transaction ID, purchase amount, and timestamp for accounting and support purposes.
